Licensed Child Psychologist

John Carosso, PsyD,  has more than 30 years of experience as a licensed child clinical psychologist and certified school psychologist working in private, inpatient, outpatient, residential, school, and home settings. He is Clinical Director of Community Psychiatric Centers, a licensed Behavioral Health Outpatient Clinic, and operates both the Autism Center of Pittsburgh and the Dyslexia Diagnostic and Treatment Center.

Dr. Carosso is certified in Applied Behavioral Analysis for use in the special education population and has conducted more than 20,000 evaluations on children with autism, attention-deficit, trauma, depression, bipolar, anxiety, behavioral issues, obsessive-compulsive disorder, reading, and related difficulties. He has supervised dozens of clinical treatment teams and regularly provides consultation to organizations, agencies, and parents. Dr. Carosso also has presented at regional conferences, served on the advisory boards of local autism societies, and serves as an expert witness in child welfare cases in Allegheny, Washington, Indiana, and Westmoreland counties.
