Julie Kolzet, Ph.D.

Dr. Julie Kolzet, Ph.D. is a member of the Psycom editorial advisory board and a licensed psychologist with an established private practice on the Upper East Side in New York City. In her practice she provides Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I), which is a specialized, non-medication based treatment for insomnia and is recognized as the #1 recommended method for treating insomnia. She also specializes in the treatment of sexual health concerns and mood disturbances such as anxiety and depression. She works with clients across the lifespan, providing compassionate and highly professional care that is tailored to each individual’s needs.

In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Kolzet serves as a consultant to health technology companies. Most recently she worked with Circady, the digital therapeutics company owned by Healios, that recently won the 2019 MedTech Breakthrough Award for Innovation in Sleep Therapy. When working with health technology companies Dr. Kolzet assists with  product development, provides clinical expertise, aids the development of business plans and strategic partnerships, and educates as to the needs of patients, researchers and providers in the behavioral health field of sleep disorders, including evidence-based treatments, innovative technology solutions and other standards of care for chronic insomnia.

Dr. Kolzet earned her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Yeshiva University, Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology with an emphasis in health psychology. She also received specialized training on the fellowship level in CBT-I from the world-renowned Behavioral Sleep Medicine Program at the University of Pennsylvania.
